Teacher Trainer

We are looking for a Teacher Trainer for the EF Teach Online Services, Johannesburg office. This role is a permanent position subject to a 3-month training period as well as a 3-month probation, running concurrently. Reporting to the Academic Manager, you will work closely with teachers and other functional areas within the EF organization.

The Teacher Trainer will form part of an established training team that is encouraged to proactively identify teacher needs and conduct training accordingly. Schedule and host support sessions in line with centre needs towards improving teachers ability and efficacy in delivering teaching services, as well as to broaden your responsibilities beyond the job description. A Bachelors degree in Training and Development, Education, or related areas would be advantages but not required. Most importantly, you can identify yourself with the organization and have the right drive and ambition to build a career within EF.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of meeting teaching KPIs
• Highly organized, detail and process orientated
• Bachelors degree or NQF Level 7 equivalent
• 1 year or more of relevant working experience in the EFL field (preferred)
• Strong analytical and English communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to solve problems and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of OBS, Excel and other MS office programs
• Ability to present complex information in understandable and clear language
• Discrete communicator
• Self-starting, pro-active, positive attitude and service-minded
• Strong administrative and planning skills
• Proven creative mindset and open to change
• Flexible, responsible and committed to work together with team members
• Adherence to principles of the POPI Act and general confidentiality

As we are working in a very fast-paced environment, we are looking for a self-starter who can apply their teaching knowledge and experience to continue the successful growth and development of the center.

Responsibilities:

• Implementation, instruction and practical elaboration on LMS training material for both Full-time and Freelance teachers
• Onboarding trainees in the training process
• Scheduling and hosting training and support sessions for new and experienced teachers
• Update training materials and training flows as per business needs
• Liaise with local and global teams to tailor training in line with international standards
• Equipping teachers with practical tools for teaching various elements of the English language
• Completing training as required
• Assessing whether full-time and freelance teachers grasp various concepts covered in training
• Provide constructive feedback to teachers on their training progress as well as conducting remedial support sessions to assist in preparing teachers for delivering teaching services.
• Create and update teaching resources i.e. infographics, videos, handbooks etc.
• Provide online support to teachers facing various technical challenges
• Conduct mentorship sessions to support the progress of new teachers
• Liaise with teachers & staff on matters relating to training
• Track and record teacher progress on Talent LMS as well as internal records
• Teach online classes as per centre quality guidelines and expectations

Contract Type: Permanent Position, subject to 3-month probation

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 21h00 - 06h00 SAST
