The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. The role will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products. Ultimately, ensuring productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.
The Warehouse Supervisor ensures that workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock. He / she plans the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organise special requirements for certain stock, such as fragile products. This role will also oversee the picking, packing and distribution activity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Basic responsibilities for the USN Group will include:
- Strategically supervise warehouse in compliance with companys policies and vision.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
- Liaise collections and deliveries with clients, suppliers and transport companies.
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc.).
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
- Verify all stock adjustments for suppliers and clients.
- Liaise with international branches and arrange logistics on all international shipping.
- Plan and coordinate events stock.
- Receiving of goods and returned stock.
- Ensure reworking of returned stock as applicable.
- Manage redundant and obsolete labels and packaging.
- Maintain standards and ensure compliance of health and safety, hygiene and security.
- Matric / Grade 12 Senior Certificate.
- Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
- 3-5 Years work experience within FMCG and warehousing / logistics.
- International logistics experience advantageous.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures in Health & Safety.
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills Afrikaans and English.
- Advanced Excel skills working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets.
- High level of technical aptitude an ability to learn new technical systems and tools quickly.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, reliable and accurate.
