Journalist

Novus Media has a vacancy for a digital savvy journalist to work in its Bellville office, starting in March 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

• You have a tertiary qualification in journalism or relevant programme.
• You love stories and storytelling no matter what format and platform.
• You can write on any topic, especially community issues.
• You are based in Cape Town or willing to relocate.
• You have a valid Code 08 drivers license

Some Skills We Need

• Excellent storytelling skills both in words and in video format.
• The ability to work fast and cope under pressure.
• The ability to find a fresh angle on a story.
• Excellent general knowledge.
• Excellent knowledge of digital platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
• The ability to work in a team and take direction from an editor.
• Drive and energy
• Willingness to work after normal office hours on occasion

What Youll Be Doing

• Reporting for all WP Media Publications, with a specific focus on Peoples Post
• Producing stories for print editions as well as social media.
• Updating WP Media social media and online platforms
• Assisting the online and print team with uploading content when required.
