Main purpose of position Currently we are looking for a Junior Accountant in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision Improving our future. As our Junior Accountant, you will manage the full accounting process for project and service companies up to trial balance, prepare monthly internal reporting and analysis and support audit preparations and audit fieldwork enquiries. You will provide the Finance Manager with management accounting information, manage payments for operating entities and reply to ad hoc queries.
Main Responsibilities
- Financial accounting- Processing cashbooks for several group companies
- Prepare bank reconciliations for several group companies
- Prepare monthly supplier reconciliations and travel account and expense claim reconciliation
- Prepare corporate credit card reconciliations, audit working paper and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare workings for ED and BEE requirement, monthly journal entries and Inter-company invoices
- Prepare Customer/Utility invoices and monthly customer statements
- Payments- Coordinate weekly payment runs (domestic and international)
- Reviewing of invoices for compliance, e.g., VAT, company details, purchase order
- Prepare weekly payment batches for entities and resolve supplier and invoice queries
- Load payments to banking system and store proof of payments and share with relevant parties
- Tax, Compliance and other- KYC administration support for Banking and other institutional requirements
- Prepare monthly VAT workings and submissions
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Extensive knowledge and experience in ERP systems
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- 3+ years Bookkeeping experience
- Understanding of finance function and sub-processes
- Preparation of full trial balance and Annual Financial Statements
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
