Vacancy for a junior food technologist for a meat industry in Parow Industria, Cape Town
Job requirements:
- Availability: Immediately
- The successful candidate will be assisting & reporting directly to our Quality Manageress and Production Managers.
- This is a JUNIOR Food Technologist position, not a management role.
- THIS POSITION IS PRODUCTION-BASED NOT LAB-BASED. i.e. the candidate will work inside the factory not in a lab.
- Salary is negotiable and based on the candidate’s experience.No employee benefits (i.e. No medical aid / No Provident fund)
- Our factory does not shutdown during the festive season (Dec - Jan)
- Candidate must be willing to work alongside our production team, providing the necessary support framework to ensure effective quality control within our factory.
- Grade 12, National Food Technology Diploma with at least 1 year relevant work experience, including comprehensive HACCP, GMP & Food safety knowledge
- Previous experience in food production or meat manufacturing would be advantageous
- Strong admin skills, a passion for systematic filing as this job requires DAILY methodical, accurate and detailed record-keeping
- Fully computer literate
- WORKING HOURS: 06:45 am - 5pm (MON – FRI) NO WEEKENDS, NO SHIFTS.
- Willing to work during our busy peak season (October – April) and during the festive season, our factory does not shutdown during December.
Job responsibilities:
- Day-to-day quality control throughout the production facility
- Maintaining hygiene policies & procedures
- Product Label control & management
- Assisting the QA Manageress with accurate record-keeping and audit preparation (FSA, ZA, external & internal audits)
