The tasks you'll perform
- Assist with process design including, development of mass and energy balances, process flow diagram, datasheets, P&IDs, design criteria, control philosophy, functional specification and operating costs and specific client process engineering requests.
- Conduct the process components of scoping and pre-feasibility studies, under supervision.
- Assist with metallurgical testwork programmes.
- Assist with commissioning activities.
- Interpret metallurgical testwork.
- Preparation of process components of study documents.
- Tertiary level education in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years proven industry experience, preferably in a minerals processing or project delivery environment.
- South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Cape Town based.
- Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate ability to and/or proficiency in the use of specific proprietary software packages
- relevant to the Engineering discipline; specifically for scheduling and cost control.
- Demonstrate knowledge of contract standards and a sound background in contract
- administration duties.
- Technical background with a broad multi-disciplinary base, preferably in minerals processing
- plants / infrastructure construction.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and a practical approach to problem-solving
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment
- Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility and discretion
- High degree of professional ethics
- Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development and improvement
