Job Purpose
To help brokers provide their clients with the best possible insurance coverage and risk management solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Providing technical support and guidance to brokers.
- Responsible for providing brokers with information about insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and policy administration processes.
- Explain complex insurance concepts in a clear and concise manner to brokers.
- Ensure Brokers are selling insurance policies that comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting Brokers in resolving complex policy administration issues, such as claims processing or policy cancellations, and to work closely with brokers and insurance providers to address these issues quickly and efficiently.
- Serves as an intermediary between brokers and insurance providers: effectively communicate with both parties, ensuring that brokers have access to resources and support they need to serve their clients.
- Provide training and education to brokers on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure relevant stakeholders are kept informed and updated.
- Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure transformational targets are met.
- Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI.
- Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
- Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and values, leading by example.
- Participate in the development and implement action plans to address issues raised in culture surveys.
- Create a client service culture through various interventions.
- Achieve operational excellence.
- Encourage team to generate innovative ideas and share knowledge.
- Make recommendations for alternate improvements to the business by reviewing non-performing areas.
- Meet financial targets through monitoring, tracking and reviewing performance of the team.
- Ensure quality sales standards are agreed to and delivered on.
- Manage performance of staff by implementing performance agreements and ensuring a clear vision.
- Mentor and coach staff on identified performance gaps.
- Motivate staff to perform and contribute to the success of the business by creating environment of teamwork through engaging with staff (sharing information) and encouraging participation in decision making processes.
- Follow the recruitment process when recruiting talent.
- Maintain a high performing team and ensure an environment for optimal performance is created by identifying talent pool through career conversations, using the talent grid principles and developing talent retention programmes.
Essential Qualification
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- AIISA / FIISA and/or
- B Degree
- Regulatory Examination: Representative (RE5)
- Regulatory Examination: Key Individual (RE1)
- Minimum 8 years' experience with at least 6 years in commercial / corporate segments in the insurance industry.
- Experience in intermediary industry minimum 5 years.
