The Key Account Executive is a pivotal role entrusted with the management of critical client accounts within the company. Leading a team of Key Account Managers and Administrators, the Executive ensures the smooth operation of these high-impact accounts, constituting a significant portion of the company's revenue. Building and nurturing robust relationships with clients is paramount, and the Executive serves as the primary point of contact for all matters concerning key clients.
Key Account Executive Duties and Responsibilities:
Cultivate a solid and trusting relationship between major clients and the company.
Resolve key client issues and address complaints effectively.
Develop a profound understanding of key account needs, anticipating changes and improvements.
Manage communications between key clients and internal teams.
Oversee the account team assigned to each client, issuing and monitoring KPIs and general performance.
Strategically plan to enhance client results, negotiating contracts, and establishing performance timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, sales, creative, advertising, logistics, etc.) to meet client needs.
Work with the sales team to maximize profit through up-selling or cross-selling.
Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and initiatives for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure timely delivery of client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines.
Analyze client data for effective customer relationship management.
Expand relationships and bring in new clients.
Maintain comprehensive client documentation and up-to-date files.
Key Account Executive Requirements and Qualifications:
Extensive Wholesale Retail Account Management Experience.
Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
Goal-oriented, organized team player with leadership capabilities.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
In-depth understanding of company key clients and their industry position.
Proven ability to analyze data and sales statistics to propose better solutions.
Bachelors degree in marketing, business administration, sales, or a relevant field preferred.
Four to five years previous work experience in sales, management, key account management, or relevant roles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills, experience with CRM software, and advanced Excel proficiency.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to follow through on client contracts.
Capability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Track record of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Own transport with a valid drivers license for frequent store and client visits.
Willingness to occasionally work in collaboration with other departments to ensure client needs are met.
