Accounting responsibilities
- General administration, filing and e-Filing maintenance.
- Pastel and Xero accounting processing.
- Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Drafting of financial statements and reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices.
- General administration, filing and e-Filing maintenance.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns (ITR14 / ITR12).
- Preparation and submission of provisional tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
- Monthly VAT201, EMP201 and UIF submissions.
- Employer PAYE reconciliations and submissions (EMP501).
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in communicating with clients to gather necessary tax information and documents.
- Prepare workpapers and schedules to support tax filings and calculations.
- Participate in tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and their potential impact on clients.
- Provide general support to senior tax accountants and managers as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Tax.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software and tax preparation software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Prior internship or relevant work experience in accounting would be an advantage.
