Job Purpose
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to render language services for the Western Cape Government related to English and IsiXhosa .
Minimum Requirements An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher qualification); A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
Recommendation Working knowledge of editing and translation of documents; Terminology development; Well versed in English and IsiXhosa.
Key Performance Areas Render language advisory services; Translate documents in the official languages; Edit documents; Facilitate provision of interpreting services; Develop and record terminology; Compile and maintain databases relating to language matters; Perform administrative tasks.
Competencies
Knowledge Of The Following
Profound working knowledge of at least two official languages; Editing and translation of documents;
Skills In The Following
Excellent written and verbal communication in English and isiXhosa; Excellent language skills; Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc); Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Strong planning and organisational skills.
Remuneration
R 359 517 per annum (Salary level 8)

Notes
