This supervising position supports the Laundry Master/Laundry Manager on overseeing the Laundry & Linen Operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring that the production requirements by machine are met, in the valet
- Ensuring that the new tagging sequence for guest items is followed properly
- Ensuring that one valet attendant is on call after the daily duties for express services
- Ensuring that the tunnel washer is working correctly 100% of the time, achieving 24 transfers per hour
- Ensuring that the correct chemical formulas are being used
- Ensuring that the tunnel washer is being loaded at 100% capacity, using the sequence 8/8 (Linen & Terry)
- Checking the tunnel washer computer and validating that the chemical formulas were properly changed per the sequence
- Ensuring that the conveyer is unloaded on time, with no delay
- Ensuring that the clean linen/towels are delivered to the correct working station
- Ensuring that a correct schedule for breaks coverage is in place
- Ensuring that daily demand is input on the valet KPI boards
- Checking all KPI dashboards to ensure that team is on schedule. If the team is not on schedule adjustment must take place accordingly to achieve the required production levels
- Discussing with the laundry team each day if the productivity goals were achieved
- Ensuring that the linen flow is continuous
- Directing overall resources to ensure that each LATD works according to the set machine work standards
- Provides appropriate coaching to LATD regarding productivity
- In charge of the monthly inventory in the laundry and linen room area
- Ensuring that the daily linen and towels demand is delivered to the housekeeping lockers on every deck
- Provide proper training on the use of the equipment to new crew members
- Provide proper training on the use of the Ecolab chemicals and formulas
- Provide Safety training on the laundry equipment and the laundry area in general.
- 3-5 years relevant & equivalent Laundry Operational Management Experience in a luxury hotel or onboard a premium cruise ship
- Ability to apply customer service skills according to Royal Caribbean Internationals The Royal Way when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Software proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project & PowerPoint required, as well as MS Office Outlook 365 email software
