Key Responsibilities
- Capture and review electrical design requirements and features.
- Carries out all job responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Participates in the development of others within the area of the incumbent's expertise, including the creation of knowledge transfer documentation materials.
- Seeks, recognizes, defines and solves problems to achieve unique objectives.
- Leads or participates in single or multiple projects from conception through implementation.
- Review of customer contract and where required, BoP subcontract documents, and assemble tender deviations.
- Preparation of standards / specifications for the discipline.
- Assume other duties as may be required by the company from time to time.
- Provide functional and technical guidance in the initiation, design, development and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes and implementation of PLC, motion control and machine safety systems.
- Have excellent technical problem solving skills.
- Be a technical expert in product / technology areas, maintaining an awareness of industry trends.
- Prepare variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects.
- Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and company policies.
- Responsibility for specific change and improvement initiatives.
- Identifying increase or reduction in scope, raising the necessary support documents for Project Control purposes.
- Leading electrical test system development for new product introductions, including concept and architecture.
- Responsible for reliability, performance and on-time delivery.
- Analyzes field problems in order to recommend and implement solutions.
- Keep track on new technology, methodology and design concept.
- Troubleshoot, determine root cause, and document all infrastructure faults and failures.
- Resource and project manage (including project schedules, change management, risk management) development efforts.
- Supports the Technical Service Department.
- The ability to manage and lead a team of Engineers (multi discipline or project based).

- Ensure that required reviews and approvals are provided and documented.
- Support the Project Manager as Technical Lead and ensure delivery to client and client and contract expectations.
- Follow safety-in-design concept to deliver compliant and safe designs.
- Serves as the technical lead for Electrical Design & Controls Engineering Teams.
- Prioritizes project work, test, commissioning & support activities.
- Responsible for design accuracy and thoroughness.
- Needs to meet project schedule requirements.
- Demonstrates success in leading the development of new products and supporting existing products.

- Grade 12/Matric
- BEng/BSc Degree in Electrical (Heavy Current) Engineering
- Must be professionally registered (Pr Eng)
- 10 to 15 years experience in relevant industries
- Previous Consulting Engineering experience
- Experience working on renewable energy projects essential.
- Possess strong technical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent AutoCAD and solar design software skills.
- Experience creating drafting and printing standards and best practices, creating templates and tools to quickly and consistently produce professional design documents.

- Travel and other assignments as required.
- No Criminal Record.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar
