Expansion Lead

What will you do?

The role exists within Home+s operations department, specifically relating to customer and tradesperson management and expansion.

The role reports to the COO of the business and oversees the customer success team and the strategy for deploying increased tradesperson numbers and categories of expansion within South Africa and eventually Africa.

What will make you successful in this role?

This Would Include The Following

Own and drive our strategic expansion for national and international tradesperson footprint, considering economic demand, including partnership and commercial opportunities.
  • Advise executive leadership on business priorities through competitive research, industry benchmarking, tradesperson input and data analysis.
  • Perform a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify and solve for gaps in Home+'s tradesperson operations.
  • Management of our customer success team, which includes, customer and tradesperson support.
Key Responsibilities Include
  • Consistently ensuring the numbers of our vetted and activated tradespeople are increasing.
  • Research based execution and implementation of a new category within a city or country that is activated and transacting on our platform/s.
  • Activating a single or many of our categories through the major cities of South Africa and ensuring a large enough tradesperson network is active to match the demand for each respective city.
  • Formalising casual and verbal processes into documentation that outlines clear processes for the entire onboarding and customer service journey that is clear enough for new employees and management to understand.
  • As the business grows, the team will too. The growth path by operational tech requirements, human capital and how resources are impacted must be delivered and catered for ahead of time in a document that details these requirements, providing for a 6-36 month view of the predicted outcomes and respective requirements.
  • Report on numbers on a weekly basis. These numbers are to be stored and measured on the previous week/months success, with key vulnerabilities highlighted and a course of action articulated, should it be needed.
  • Promote the same philosophy that aligns with the COO. Open-door policy, encourages ideas, while adopting a direct approach. Measuring the success or failure of the team as a unit. Regular team building exercises and meetings are to be conducted to encourage this behaviour
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors Degree at minimum
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate strategy or other strategic roles involving supply chain and vendor management
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar expansion (gig economy) roles
Skills
  • Experience leading large cross-functional, and data driven projects.
  • Experience creating high-impact and executive-ready materials and working closely with leadership.
  • Advanced skills in Excel / Google Sheets.
  • Presentation skills and a proven track record of upward management.
