As the Rights and Permissions Lead you will work strategically and collaboratively with the business and Editorial Development Team to ensure that all Rights and Permissions including third party rights (to assets such as images, text and videos) are acquired and maintained throughout the lifecycle for planned product portfolios, new content and distribution initiatives and granting services. You will oversee and evolve Rights and Permission systems and policy initiatives.
- Supports and engages with all planned and current products and third-party content
- Ensures suitable rights clearance and coverage is in place and up to date for all content across all products and services including marketing materials.
- Works closely with the Legal team to maintain rights clearance
- Deliver any training and information to manage the risk associated with the portfolio, including risk profiling exercises with business leadership.
- Leads and manages the Rights and Permissions team by providing ongoing support and opportunities for the professional development.
- Oversees and manage the Rights and Permissions Renewals as well as Rights and Permissions Retirement where rights are returned back to the original rights owner/author.
- Oversees the permissions granting process and works collaboratively with the internal stakeholders to grant or deny any permission requests.

- Engage with Copyright holders, and negotiate quotes to ensure that the permissions are cleared within the available budget.
- Implement and use rights management tools for checking, recording and tracking all projects and third-party assets, and resolve any issues working with your team.
- Work with all internal stakeholders to establish a final close-out period for all completed
- Actively track quotes and invoices across the rights clearance portfolio and work with the Product Development Support team to ensure processing is completed.
- Provide reports and share insights with internal stakeholders on
- Together with the Project Leads, manage the commissioning workflows of content, both print and digital, to ensure third party rights are considered.
- Engage with Marketing teams to ensure that all promotional collateral adheres to rights clearance standards..
