A position of Leadership Development Specialist exists within the Human Resources department at Santam based in Johannesburg.
The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain an emphasis on internal and external learning initiatives focused on leadership development with use of external partners where appropriate. This role assists with the development, design and execution of specific programmes and initiatives to support aspiring leaders to develop the knowledge and skills required to step up to managerial and leadership roles.

- Supports the execution of the leadership development strategy and deployment of innovative learning solutions and talent management with the objective of enhancing organisational capability and talent productivity
- Responsible to deliver within the broader areas of Leadership and People Development
- Responsible to execute, manage and evaluate organisation- wide learning programs
- Responsible to manage, prioritise, align and enable the implementation of strategic programs, initiatives and projects specific to leadership and career development
- Supports functional leaders for the effective management of top talent
- Supports the design and execution of the leadership development strategy in a holistic and interdisciplinary approach.
- Build initiatives around principles and practices that expressly ensure that the organisations talent pipeline is developed in line with business strategic goals and objectives
- Partners with the business to identify leadership development needs and devise solutions which deliver successful outcomes
- Explores emerging technologies to create or adopt new innovations in delivering the best learning experience for the business
- Leverages existing technologies available in the business to build and develop future fit skills and skills required to deliver on the organisations business strategy
- Leverages data analytics to articulate ROI of leadership development investments made
- Acts as a relationship partner with all learning service providers and ensure adherence to SLAs
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting for management purposes
- Drive the execution of the Digital learning strategy by developing a range of customised initiatives and campaigns focused on learning consumption
- Works with the Learning Ops team to manage all Skills development processes and requirements
- Partners with Sanlam on successful implementation of all group wide initiatives
- Relevant Diploma/Degree
- 5 years experience in leadership development
- Project Management skills (Planning, Organising & Controlling)
- Computer literacy skills (Excel, Powerpoint, see skills required for full list)
- Good communication, analytical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skill
- Track record of creating innovative and measurable solutions to business challenges
- Strong data analytics and experience with relevant software e.g. Power BI
- Previous experience operating in a centre of excellence
- Previous experience in analysing information and using this to inform recommendations and implement practical solutions
