Lean Specialist (Financial Services)

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

Position Overview

A highly reputable South African financial services concern has an exciting newly created opportunity for a Lean Specialist in their Currency Management Department.

The main purpose of this position is to plan and implement Lean Management Principles and solutions across the Supply Chain Management Division in the Currency Management Department (CMD) to improve efficiencies, productivity and reduce costs.

Key Performance Areas

Review and analyse the cash supply chain performance metric standards, processes, procedures, technologies, systems, and solutions.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvements.
Conduct time-in-motion studies to support productivity improvements.
Design and recommend solutions that will improve the efficiency of the supply chain operations.
Customise industry lean principles and methodologies (Six Sigma).
Serve as a technical expert in Six Sigma problem-solving tools and coordinate their implementation.
Extract production data and identify waste and contributing factors for process improvements.
Maintain and update visualisation tools.
Coordinate continuous improvement and problem-solving projects.
Design and deliver in-house training tools and facilitate knowledge transfer.

To Be Considered For This Position, One Must Have

A completed Bachelor's degree (NQF 7) in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Lean Supply Chain Management (SCM) or an equivalent qualification.
Black Belt certification in Six Sigma is essential.
A minimum of 6-8 years' experience in innovating Supply Chain Operations.
