Job Purpose
The Digital Learning Manager at IIE Rosebank College will play a crucial role in integrating established and emerging technologies (e.g., AI and digital assessment platforms) to support the teaching and learning processes that enhance the educational experience of students and faculty. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and support of educational technology tools and resources, leveraging advanced technologies and data-driven insights, from Big Data in Education to AI and Machine Learning, to improve teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and academic outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, Implement and Monitor the Digital Education Strategy for the Brand:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Digital Education strategy to support the institution's teaching and learning objectives using AI, predictive analytics, and assessment strategies.
- Collaborate with faculty, academics, administrators, and IT staff to identify and prioritize technology needs and initiatives, focusing on leveraging AI and predictive analytics for personalized learning experiences.
- Utilize AI and predictive analytics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of technology integration initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize teaching and learning outcomes.
- Provide the leadership with expert guidance, knowledge and information on emerging trends and innovations in educational technology, AI, and data analytics.
- Training and Supporting:
- Develop and delivers professional development workshops, seminars, and training sessions on technology integration, AI, and predictive analytics in education.
- Participate in the selection, evaluation, and implementation of AI-driven educational software, applications, and online learning platforms that support personalised learning and adaptive assessments.
- Governance:
- Provide expert knowledge and guidance to leadership on accessibility and assistive technologies to ensure inclusivity in the use of AI and analytics-driven educational technology.
- Proficient in relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to technology use, AI, and data privacy in education.
- Driving Learner Success through technology
- Collaborate with instructional designers and curriculum developers to design and develop technology-enhanced learning materials and resources, incorporating AI-driven elements and predictive analytics.
- Manage and maintains the college's learning management system (LMS) and other educational technology platforms, ensuring seamless integration of AI, analytics, and assessment tools.
- Team performance management
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters qualification (NQF Level 9) in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Data Science, or related field (Minimum)
- PHD qualification (NQF Level 10) in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Data Science, or related field (Minimum)
- Teaching Lecturing education management experience (5 years)
- People Management (5 years)
- Proven experience in integrating AI, predictive analytics, and technology into teaching and learning environments, preferably in a higher education setting (3 years)
- Strong knowledge of educational technology tools, learning management systems, online learning platforms, and AI applications in education (3 years)
- Familiarity with instructional design principles, assessment strategies, and best practices in utilizing AI and analytics for personalized learning experiences (3 years)
- Proficiency in conducting technology needs assessments and evaluating educational technology solutions, AI algorithms, and predictive analytics models (2 years)
