LECTURER (ONE POST)

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate- and postgraduate courses in biokinetics and/or sport science;
- Play an active role as academic nationally and internationally;
- Conduct departmental- and academic-related activities and responsibilities;
- Be involved in clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
- Mentor and supervise postgraduate students;
- Conduct collaborative research in their research specialisation area;
- Participate in community engagement and service delivery;
- Comply and assist with the Health Professions Council of South Africas (HPCSA) directives and minimum standards.
- A Masters degree in Biokinetics, Sport Science or equivalent;
- Minimum of two publications in accredited peer review journals.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES) :
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Power-Point);
- Interpersonal- and mentoring skills;
- The ability to work independently and in a team.
- At least 1-year teaching experience including tutoring;
- At least 2 years work experience is recommended in the field of biokinetics, sport science or equivalent;
- current registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa is required for qualified Biokineticist;
- Illustrate potential to become an established researcher and lecturer;
- Some first author publications in internationally accredited peer-reviewed journals;
- Evidence of research, postgraduate supervision, teaching and/or practical application of biokinetics and/or sport science or equivalent;
- Experience in interdisciplinary, national/international collaborative research.
