LECTURER IN CRIMINOLOGY

Responsibilities
- Teach, supervise and assess at both undergraduate and postgraduate level;
- Supervise postgraduate students;
- Initiate, conduct and sustain high-level research and publications;
- Develop and organise under- and postgraduate graduate curricula/modules as required;
- Academic administration and other duties as determined by the Head of Department;
- Involvement in departmental and faculty committees and initiatives;
- Participate in community engagement initiatives;
- Participation in the Departments strategic initiatives relating to teaching, research and community engagement.
- A doctoral degree in Criminology or Security Studies;
- Appropriate teaching experience in the applicable field of expertise;
- Experience in supervising masters students;
- Research outputs appropriate to the post level and/or applicable field of experience.
- Knowledge of Fundamental Criminology;
- Extensive knowledge of Criminology Theory;
- Experience in teaching Research Methodology.
The Following Will Be a Strong Recommendation
- A proven research and publishing record of accomplishment in the specialised field;
- Appropriate language and communication skills.
