Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching and Learning
- Teaching a variety of NQF-Level 9 SLPs, as well as modules in the Structured Masters in Higher Education Studies (MEd.HES).
- Supervise 30 credit research projects in the PGDip in Higher Education Studies.
- Perform research in the field of Teaching and Learning in higher education.
- Active participation in the development of academics as a community and designing modules for service learning for academics.
- Planning, organising and record keeping as part of office and subject (module) administration in accordance with facultys teaching policy and close collaboration with CHEPD leadership.
- Active participation in workshops, seminars and curriculum conversations with academics across faculties in order to professionalise academics as university teachers.
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum Requirements
- A Masters degree (NQF level 9) in Education/Social Sciences/Humanities
- A minimum of three (3) years tutoring/lecturing experience in tertiary education.
- A PhD degree (NQF level 10) in Education/Social Sciences/Humanities.
- Subject knowledge: Education/Social Sciences/Higher Education Studies.
- Teaching skills: Lecturing/Tutoring/Facilitation.
- High standard of work ethics
- Communication
- Able to work individually as well as part of subject group (team)
- Ability to create own structures, adhere to deadlines and work in a self-directed manner
