LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (One post)

Responsibilities
It will be expected of the successful candidate to:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the Department;
- Supervise final year undergraduate project students and postgraduate honours, masters and/or PhD students;
- Conduct research as a member of a research group in the Department and publish in leading accredited journals;
- Raise and manage additional funding from national and international funding agencies and industry to support the activities of the relevant research group;
- Expand existing research programmes or initiate new research programmes.
Lecturer:
- Masters degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Appropriate tertiary teaching experience at undergraduate levels.
- Ability to conduct and publish research.
- Supervision of Masters students.
- Doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering
- A proven record of research experience supported by suitable publications
- Supervision of Masters and PhD students.
- Appropriate tertiary teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Preference will be given to the candidate with the specialization in Operations Research. However, candidates from the other areas of Industrial Engineering are encouraged to also apply .
- A proven record of research experience supported by suitable publications
- A proven research record supported by publications in high quality peer reviewed journals.
- Proof of supervision of Masters and PhD students.
For all levels:
- The ability to effectively teach large undergraduate modules.
- The ability to effectively teach and supervise postgraduate modules.
- Evidence of teaching excellence;
- Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research expertise that complement the Departments needs;
- Related industry work or consulting experience;
- An appropriate NRF-research rating;
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (ECSA) will be an added advantage
