The purpose of the Legal Adviser position is to provide professional legal support to the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, including the Office of the Speaker, the administration, and parliamentary committees.

Education
Professional Experience & Qualifications required for this role:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Five years cumulative legal experience in a firm as an attorney and/or as an advocate at the Bar
- Ability to draft quality legal opinions
- Enrolled as a legal practitioner in accordance with the Legal Practice Act, 2014
- Legal governance and contracts
- Legal advisory and support services
- Litigation
- Statutory interpretation
- Knowledge of government and parliamentary systems and procedures
- Research skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal professionals
