Position Summary

In this role you will be responsible for the following:
- To act as the Shared Service regional, in-house Attorney, dealing on a day-to-day basis with all matters that have legal consequence, as well as providing guidance, advice, and if necessary, intervention, on the day to day running of the business from a general and legal perspective.
- Ensuring that the Company complies with all statutory requirements and relevant international and local codes.
- To draft all legal documentation including official letters, submissions, reports, agreements and promotional competition terms and conditions.
- To assist the Company Secretary in the performance of his/her duties when required, and to deputize for the Company Secretary when required.
- Negotiating, drafting and authorizing of contracts and other legal documents
- Provision of day-to-day legal, and general, advice and opinions
- Resolving of disputes / litigious matters
- Performing regional day-to-day Company Secretarial duties
- Co-ordination and running of formal litigation
- Responsible for the legal side of the property portfolio
- Performing coordinating control function across the business
- Interpreting and commenting on draft legislation affecting the Company
- Serving in various forums representing the Company
- Handling of consumer disputes when serious, or litigation contemplated
- Special Tasks requested by Company Secretary or any Director
- Experience 5-10 years including Law firm experience
- Experience with Legal Department in an FMCG environment.
- Must be an Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years corporate experience.
