Key Purpose
Providing the highest quality legal advice, legal opinions, to relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding all legal related matters to minimize risk of the organization.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Attend and resolve legal disputes on behalf of Discovery to ensure the best possible outcome for the organization;
- To conduct legal analysis and research on various pertinent legal matters;
- To take a leading role in providing general legal advice in line with legislation to avoid statutory and/or regulatory consequences;
- To assist in drafting, formulating and reviewing legal material and other relevant documents on a priority basis;
- Drafting and reviewing of all manner of contracts;
- Problem Solving Skills
- Effective Communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Time Management Skills
- Able to pay attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills to respond to client requests effectively,
- Demonstration of the ability to work under sustained pressure and to tight deadlines
- 5 years Financial Services experience
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
- Long and Short-term insurance experience essential.
- Drafting and review of legal documentation in terms of contracts, agreements and policies.
- Contract Management services.
Education and Experience
- Matric
- Bachelors in Laws
- Admitted Attorney / Advocate
- Completed LLB Advantageous
- 3 to 5 years Post-articles experience in the Financial Services Industry
