Legal Compliance Administrator (12 month contract)

A contract position has become available within the Legal Compliance department of TFG Finance and Advisory.

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Assist with the facilitation of legal compliance for credit legislation, financial services legislation, financial intelligence legislation and consumer legislation (SA, Rest of Africa and Globally)
  • Conduct legal compliance monitoring (both physical and automated) in relation to credit, financial services, financial intelligence, consumer, and privacy legislation under the guidance of the Legal Compliance Specialists
  • Assist in any clarification meetings with the business regarding monitoring findings
  • Responsible for choosing monitoring samples and interrogating any automated monitoring results as a first line of monitoring
  • Responsible for managing and uploading Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) complaints and their distribution to the relevant stakeholders in the business
  • Monitor and advise the Legal Compliance Specialists of any legislative changes including amendments and new laws
  • Assist the Legal Compliance Specialists with assessing the potential impact of legislative changes on the business
  • Conducting research and news scanning to aid the Legal Compliance Specialists with regulatory monitoring
  • Accurate, complete, and timely reporting of significant matters. Reporting on results relating to CGSO complaints to the business and the Legal Compliance team
  • Registered as the Money-Laundering Officer and responsible for reporting
  • Highlight any non-compliance concerns to the Legal Compliance Specialists through monthly legal compliance reports
  • Deliver training as and when where required
  • Assist in the drafting of training which is user-friendly for head office and stores
  • Monitor the efficacy of training and propose changes to improve efficacy
To apply you need to have:
  • A minimum of 1 - 3 years experience preferably within a legal compliance team across multiple jurisdictions
  • Relevant qualification (LLB/Law degree)
  • Admitted attorney/qualified legal practitioner
  • Prior compliance experience is advantageous
  • Team player
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and sticking to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Technically savvy
  • Willing to learn
