Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an admitted attorney or advocate, to join the Legal team at CCBA. This role will play a significant part in providing legal advisory services across the Group. The successful applicant will be reporting into the General Counsel.

Key Purpose
The Legal Counsel role requires a technically excellent, commercially-minded lawyer who can support the business in identifying and proactively managing legal risks across all business operations, ensuring effective risk mitigation and reducing potential liabilities. By providing timely and accurate legal support for business initiatives, the role enhances the business decision-making and execution speed. As a senior lawyer in the team, the successful candidate will be expected to be collaborative, with a growth mindset, supporting a culture of continuous improvement across the legal function and the business as a whole.
The successful candidate will be aware of current best-practice in contract drafting, be able to optimize contractual terms through skilled negotiation, and to achieve cost savings and minimize legal exposure while efficiently supporting the business commercial legal needs. They will support compliance assurance by maintaining adherence to relevant laws and internal policies, enabling the company to operate within established legal frameworks while driving a culture of compliance and strong governance practices. They will be required to provide legally sound and commercially astute advice to support the business in effectively managing and resolving disputes. Additionally, they will foster stakeholder trust and confidence through reliable, business-oriented legal advice and the development of strong internal relationships.
