Description Of Position
The client is looking for a dedicated and motivated Linux Automation Engineer with over 2 years of experience. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing Linux-based systems and infrastructure to ensure server stability, security, and performance. The role requires handling automation and configuration tools to support application deployment.
Key duties include developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools using languages like Bash and PowerShell. By automating tasks such as deployments, configuration management, and system monitoring, the goal is to reduce manual effort, minimise errors, and boost system performance. This role plays a vital part in advancing continuous improvement and innovation within the infrastructure.
Knowledge And Skills

- Design, deploy, and support Linux within server environments: Implement and manage Linux systems to guarantee stability and peak performance.
- Ensure system reliability and high availability.
- Automate Tasks: Create and oversee automation scripts to simplify processes and enhance efficiency.
- Offer hardware support for servers.
- Provide support for VMware systems.
- Optimise system performance in batch processing environments.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to systems and processes.

- Valid unendorsed driver's licence (code 8 minimum).
- Be willing to travel between sites.
- Tertiary qualification or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Linux certification is essential.
- 6 or more years of Linux experience in a server environment.
- A year or more of VMware experience.
- A year or more of experience building highly automated environments.
- A year or more of experience with Bash and PowerShell.
- Preferably a year or more of experience with HP and Dell hardware.
- Preferably a year or more of experience with CA AutoSys.
- Preferably some knowledge of Cloud technologies.
- Windows certification will be an advantage.
