Communication
- Attends to all verbal, dictated and written instruction as per director and associates
- Screening of calls as well as message taking for allocated division
- Communication of messages, urgent faxes and/or communication
- Assist with queries regarding Sheriff payments, deposits, requisitions for cheques and receipts
- Give written instructions to the accounts department, to pay accounts such as counsels, agents, sherrifs and personal refunds
- Assist with researches when required
- Request numbers for opening files
- Assist with debt collections, making appointments with clients and provide updates on cases
- Assist with queries regarding support services such as IT, HR, Accounts
- Suitable candidate must have legal attorney/firm exposure with an understanding of legal practice
- Ability to type, draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents prepared
- Experience in Dictaphone typing
- Be able to attend to invoicing and arranging of payments of invoices
- Strong Computer skills and able to competently work on excel and word
- Good communication skills and be able to provide general administrative assistance such as printing, filing and sorting of documents
- Be able to attend to telephone calls
- Be able to prepare large bundles of documentation including photocopying and scanning
- Ability to work under pressure and to reporting to move than one attorney at a time
- Matric
- 3 years experience as a Legal Secretary in a Law firm (ESSENTIAL)
- Deadline driven
- Accurate and meticulous
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Able to work in a high paced environment
- Be able to pay attention to detail
