We are looking for a general Lodge assistant that has an excellent understanding of running all areas of a 12-bedroom Lodge.
Job requirements:
- There is also a restaurant on site that services all meals and the Lodge Anchor will also need to assist in this area.
- This property is situated about 25km outside of Howick along the N3, KZN.
- Previous experience in the hotel industry, preferably 5 Star Stable track records
- Preferred candidate to reside in the KZN Midlands area, or willing to relocate with own accommodation and vehicle.
- Position is available March 2018 or April 2018
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Clear communication skill – must speak English fluently
- Ability to use, MS Word and Excel skills
- Previous experience on GAAP point of Sale and Hotelier Booking system could be an advantage
- Able to work shifts, (including weekends and public holidays)
Job responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate guest relations to provide the highest standard of service
- Reporting to the General Manager and Owners Managing of staff in absence of manager which includes housekeeping, waitrons, security, kitchen (staff compliment of 10)
- Check in and out of guests
- Check that rooms are 100 %
- Breakfasts run smoothly and assist
- To report and where possible take action for any guest or client complaint or compliments
- Assist with group arrivals
- Assist with site inspections when required
- Effective communication with all relevant departments or guests with regards to special requests either via email, telephonically or fax
- Human Resources Management
- Staff training and control, Laws, Regulations and Policies Security, Health and Safety
