We are looking for a driven individual to join our Regional Logistics Management Team and the Market Organization South Africa Leadership Team,
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting regional logistics, strategy development and implementation to achieve key supply chain goals in supporting the business, to meet customer expectations and achieve optimal results. You will be responsible as well for the development and implementation of logistics strategies to achieve corporate objectives across Market Organization South Africa.

What does the role involve?
The purpose of the role is to develop local / Market Organization logistics strategies in alignment with the Regional and Global Logistics strategies. Oversee Warehousing, Transportation, and Materials Management within the Market Organization.
People responsibility (hiring, training, coaching, motivation, and performance management) along with budget and planning responsibility at the Market Organization level. Member of the local management team.
Scope: Highest level of logistics leadership in the Market Organization,
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for the leadership, development and coaching of Team Members within MO South Africa Logistics teams.
- Responsible for the leadership of the Logistics Team to develop and implement a consistent distribution strategy based on global framework.
- Development and implementation of communication to achieve continual improvement of our logistics and service value proposition.
- Manages total logistics costs to set budgets and productivity targets, KPI.
- Manages service to the customer through meeting / exceeding set service levels, KPI.
- Manages inventory levels and drives positive contribution to net working capital of organization, KPI.
- Manages staff resources according to underlying current & future sales trends.
- Develop, train, monitor and evaluate the workforce.
- Liaise and negotiate with Suppliers.
- Ensures effective communication & teamwork within Department and inter department.
- Challenges and develops existing operational & supply concepts.
- Manage prefabrication operations & services (Supply, Cutting / Kitting, Delivery) within allocated budget and timeline.

What you need is:
- Masters degree holder in Logistics or relevant field, MBA is a plus.
- Strong supply chain and third-party logistics provider experience, supply chain network knowledge, commercial and Lean competence.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and strong communication and presentation skills.
- Has demonstrated consultative, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Able to manage operational and tactical aspects concurrently.
- Keeps abreast of emerging trends in the industry with strong analytical skills.
- Project management able to construct and implement work-plans.
- Builds and maintains networks internally and externally.
- Must understand the context in which Hilti operates.
- Must understand the Hilti Business Model and Business strategy and be able to explain it to internal and external customers.
- Must understand the interrelationship between MOs and BUs, and between Logistics, Sales and Marketing.
- Must be knowledgeable on the industry, our competitors and their value proposition.
- Effectively support recruiting for and develop the strengths of the Logistics Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a Strategy, Plan and Vision.
- Clear understanding of Hilti Business model and works accordingly.
- Able to understand the market & identify clear initiatives to take advantage of major logistics, distribution & opportunities.
- Makes good decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
- Able to co-ordinate and prioritize initiative roll out to the organization.
