Responsibilities
- Budgeting and forecasting in line with the company sales plan.
- Identifying critical Capex requirements for plans to be achieved.
- Accounting for weekly capacities, availability of materials as well as different lead times based on sales forecasts.
- Managing all company production, procurement, quality control, and the relevant reporting and stakeholder management.
- Procurement of all materials, (i.e., on time, in the right quantities, and at the right price).
- Reporting and tracking of production records for excise payments.
- Effectively managing the cost of production year on year for all products through active engagement with all suppliers.
- Proactive supplier management, evaluating and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Managing the yearly supplier negotiations process, ensuring cost of sales remain within budget.
- Facilitating recipe development for all products including the methods.
- Ensuring all other certification requirements are kept up to date.
- Managing and leading national RTM (Route to Market) strategies.
- Ensuring sales and distribution model in line with company strategies.
- Executing and evaluating RTM performance distributor infrastructure.
- Developing solid and optimised RTM strategy including the urban and rural approach using data and systems required to exploit the opportunity and potential in the market.
- Developing annual business plan for RTM implementation in conjunction with Commercial team and Regional Sales Manager team.
- Implement and adapt reality of " Optimised RTM strategy " including Execution Management Surveys, Report, Routines, RTM Models, RTM Toolkits, RTM Dashboard, Distribution Development and Management Dashboard, by working closely with Regional Market Execution Executive, and RTM Coordinator.
- Ensuring that "RTM Execution guidelines" are fulfilled, aligned, and executed as designed.
- Generating and defining RTM metrics dashboard and monitor distributors dashboard performance.
- Building RTM capabilities and process implementation.
- Conducting financial analysis Return on Investment of RTM process to be shared with key stakeholders.
- Setting control system in place to get region compliance on distributor management.
- Inventory management with days inventory at the distributor level.
- Best planning with Route optimisation.
- Strategically planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
- Directing, optimising, and coordinating full order cycle.
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
- Keeping track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency thereof.
- Arranging warehouse, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments.
- Resolving any arising problems or complaints.
- Supervising, coaching and training Warehouse employees.
- Meeting cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeous targets.
- Overseeing production orders and co-packing manufacturing.
- Maintaining metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Complying with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Proven work experience as a Logistics Manager or similar in the FMCG or Beverage sector.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in FMCG, Route-To-Market and logistics management experience.
- Bachelors degree in Logistics Management or related.
- Related post graduate degree (advantageous).
- Able to travel nationally as required.
- Proficient in standard logistics software.
- Sound commercial knowledge.
- Experience managing major national secondary and primary distribution partners.
- Experience managing Retailer, Distributor and Planner relationships.
- Knowledge and demonstrated delivery in a challenging trading environment.
- Working knowledge of channel, pricing, and strategy development.
- Experience in operations management, costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Able to implement and drive operational processes and procedures.
- Strong account management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team to bring projects to a close.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Ability to lead and coach staff.
