Looking for sous chef

Catering Industry is looking for a sous chef in Durbanville, Northern Suburbs.

Job requirements:

  • Matric certificate.
  • Cookery qualification will be a strict requirement.
  • 2-4 years' industry experience.
  • 3 years' Sous Chef experience.
  • Different styles of cuisine.
  • Catering for private functions experience
  • Driver’s license and own transport
  • Willing to work shifts and overtime.

Job responsibilities:

  • Menu planning
  • Stock rotation, taking, control, procurement.
  • Preparation and cooking of meals in line with occupancy and menu design of clients.
  • Daily preparations for upcoming functions.
  • Management of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef.
  • Assist with preparations and cooking of meals for functions and events at required facilities.
  • Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards.
  • Mentor junior chefs as required.
  • Assist with ordering and buying stock for functions.
