Job Description
SPEED - Manage performances and ensuring targets are met for machine setters.
Ensuring customers requirements are met and ensuring customer satisfaction
Maintenance and repair of 2nd stage Drums expander heads and 1st stage drums
Repair and pre-build bladders in machine setters workshop for 1st stage building machines
Maintenance if tyre building equipment
COST - Manage supplies & resources cost effectively.
Capital Expenditure - Creation of Capital request
Controlling LDC &MDC cost for dept
Ordering of equipment
Corrective actions to reduce scrap
QUALITY - Quality awareness for machine setters on all Equipment
Involved with Internal and External Customer Audits
Ensure that 1st GT build after change is conforming to Quality standards
Tooling - design, manufacture and implementation requirements are aligned and suitable for achieving product requirements
Product allocation
Implement actions to improve virgin warehouse yield
Ensuring customers requirements are met and ensuring customer satisfaction
Maintenance and repair of 2nd stage expander heads and 1stage drums
MORALE - Coaching, mentoring and disciplining of employees
Handling conflict
Counselling for Poor Absenteeism
Continuous improvement
Training of personnel on set-up
HEALTH & SAFETY - Ensure compliance with Government Regulations. (OHS Act, ISO, SABS, Building Regulations)
Compliance & implementation with all legal requirements; OHS & EHS policies & procedures
Good housekeeping practices
Support 5S programme
MANAGEMENT - Manage, lead, develop and disciplining of personnel according to the Company policy. This includes overtime management, absenteeism control, leave and effective deployment of manpower to attend to breakdowns.
Take full accountability for coordinating departmental workforce and corrective action to ensure deliverables are achieved.
Training and development of associates - all levels.
AGREEMENTS/ REPORTS. DOCUMENTATION - Coordinate & drive machine setter documents
Machine setter/Tooling documentation and performance reports, guidelines, book of requirements
Implement and maintain specifications and standard operating procedures
Compile Justifications for projects
Analyse, measure, compile & provide tooling breakdowns and change overs
Manage performances and ensuring targets are met for machine setters.
Qualifications
National Diploma or N6 in Engineering or relevant qualification.
3 years in a Tyre Manufacturing environment
