Job Description.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting a qualified artisan with the day-to-day duties in a particular trade and will have sufficient relevant experience to perform the assistant work required.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
- N2 Certificate - Electrical or Mechanical.
- Practical mechanical experience in an abattoir/ manufacturing plant.
- Related mechanical courses done will be advantageous.
- Willingness to work overtime incl. shifts, weekends/ holidays when required.
Will be the assistant to the artisan with the following:
- Maintaining, cleaning and sorting of the workshop.
- Limit downtime in the plant to prevent unnecessary loss of production.
- Daily inspection of all machinery and tools inside the production plant and writing a report about inspection findings.
- Ensure monthly planned maintenance on all machinery and tools are done as specified.
- Inspect conveyers continuously to ensure conveyers are operational and functional in order for production to continue.
- Repair all relevant buildings and infrastructure on request of management
- Assist with breakdowns in the plant to repair damage as soon as possible and ensure minimum breakdown time.
- To liaise with internal departments on an ongoing basis to ensure the quality of service and products.

- Knowledge of Health and safety procedures.
