Job Summary
EQ8 Recruit has been engaged to help recruit a Maintenance Manager.
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Compliance & Risk Manager and is responsible for Managing the company facility requirements at 5 manufacturing facilities, 1 warehouse facility and 1 commissioning facility and lead the maintenance team.
The main purpose of the Maintenance Manager is to manage the maintenance activities of the company to maximise equipment availability and performance at the lowest cost in accordance with strict safety, health, environmental and risk requirements.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:-
- Minimum Qualification: Trade qualification in applicable field / National diploma
- Ideal Qualification: Bachelors degree or Advanced Diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering, NQF level 7
- Minimum Experience: 3 years management in maintenance experience
- Exposure to the manufacturing environment
- Code 8 drivers license
- Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency.
- Ability to operate within MS Office and a computerized maintenance management system.
- Ability to analyse data and report thereon.
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-
Maintenance Management
- Responsible for the effective management and maintenance of all machinery, vehicles, and buildings
- Develop a preventative maintenance program for all machinery, vehicles, and buildings to ensure the best utilisation and output of all these company assets and resources.
- Develop and communicate the facilities department long, medium- and short-term goals and objectives in line with the Company objectives.
- Develop and implement the necessary work management procedures necessary to maintain the work management process.
- Ensuring that all projects are executed according to the project plan, within the time constraint, OHSA, Bylaws, Company policies and that all contractors are managed and controlled effectively.
- Contribute to the inception, acceptance and integration of new equipment and installations.
- The planning, budgeting, and executing of the annual shutdown program to ensure the effective annual scheduled maintenance of all major and critical machines and equipment.
- Create and maintains a motivated work environment within the facilities department.
- Build and maintain an effective team.
- Ensuring that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the team members.
- Monitoring the actions and performance of all team members.
- Continuous guidance and mentoring activities to the team members.
- Continuous coaching, training and mentoring activities:
- Develop immediate sub-ordinates and succession planning.
- Develop, implement, monitor and report on the Manufacturing line training plan.
- Motivate staff and ensure that sub-ordinates meet job standards and requirements
- Ensure that a good team spirit and motivated/engaged workforce is maintained.
- To compile, track and control the facilities OPEX and CAPEX budgets in accordance with the Company approved budget.

A market-related salary based on the level of responsibility for this role is on offer.
