Division: Weir HBF
Location: Port Elizabeth (Onsite)
Purpose of Role: The successful candidate will be the appointed GMR2 and manage the entire maintenance team, all the planning, repairs, maintenance, improvements including all relevant maintenance SOPs and procedures for the HBF site.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management & Optimization: Manage mechanical and electrical breakdowns, set up planned maintenance systems, and implement productivity improvement plans to maximize output, minimize downtime, and continuously improve processes, systems, energy, and water usage.
- Operational Reliability & Sustainability: Ensure uninterrupted supply of air, steam, gas, and electrical services, assist in reducing the plant's carbon footprint, design safety-focused equipment, and implement control systems to prevent maintenance stock losses.
- Leadership & Compliance: Optimize artisan utilization, manage employees and maintenance contracts effectively in line with company policies and procedures, comply with General Machine Regulations under the OHS Act, and execute business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Financial & Project Oversight: Manage departmental budgets and capex projects, develop standard work instructions for consistent processes, and improve customer satisfaction through efficient resource utilization.

- Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Government Certificate of Competency (Factories), and 5-8 years experience in maintenance management within foundry or heavy industrial environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems CMMS, knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance techniques, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Leadership & Compliance: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, ability to develop and implement maintenance strategies, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of safety.
- Budgeting & Collaboration: Experience managing maintenance budgets and controlling costs, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering and production teams.
