Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists within the NEXT176 Finance team to provide management accounting, financial analysis and support to the NEXT176 portfolio and the individual ventures. This role offers exposure to an interesting combination of technical accounting and business issues.
The role interacts closely with the various ventures to ensure all the reporting requirements are well understood and deliveries are met.
There is strong focus on ensuring processes are robust, efficient and fit for purpose with appropriate governance and controls framework applied.
Participation in various projects and adhoc analysis will be required, which will present opportunities to develop further insights on the portfolio
- Assist with timeous and accurate delivery of management reports for the portfolio and each of the ventures.
- Provides commentary on financial results and implications and advises on corrective action to be taken
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly budgeting and forecasting and relevant report consolidations
- Develops, reports and interprets KPI's and benchmarks
- Interacts with various stakeholders on financial outcomes, expense trends and business changes
- Support the ventures and partnerships team in optimal structuring of deals and venture set-ups, engaging group experts where necessary.
- Monitors and maintains a strong financial and reporting environment, implementing improvements where necessary
- Emphasis of the role is on interpretation and predictive results
- Assisting with managing financial and business risk
- Understanding the business key performance indicators and impact on expenses.
- Support the venture leads and NEXT176 with adhoc financial analysis
- Grows and maintains relationships with other Old Mutual delivery areas and business units.
- Back up support for HFM and tax submissions where necessary.
- Finance graduate with 5 years experience in Financial Services / Insurance reporting.
- Knowledge and experience in Finance, Financial Controlling, Financial Functions, Financial Processes, Investment Accounts
- A self-starter who is able to take initiative and run and drive issues until they are resolved.
- Process orientated with the ability to set up new processes and systems or improve existing ones
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated, energetic team player with a desire to learn new skills and grow
- Ability to multi-task and focus on solving problems,
- HFM Experience and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills is advantageous
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Solution-driven, pro-active and energetic
- Highly organized and Structured.
- Capturing and pulling reports on Financial system
- Willing and able to learn fast and assimilate a significant amount of information.
