Key Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for building the Private Equity in the Accounting & Tax service delivery team for the South Africa team, working closely with the Senior Management Team to assess resource requirements and team structure, developing transition plans for the migration of services, and planning ongoing service delivery;
- Manage escalations related to the migration of services and cooperate with the Senior Managers and Service Delivery Managers on a corrective and execution plan;
- Manage a team of people who will principally be focused on providing a range of accounting, tax, and compliance services for our clients and support work allocation and capacity planning;
- Review the deliverables of the teams portfolio and be responsible for planning, timing, and quality; you will assist production where necessary;
- Manage client relationships in a way that is consistent with good practice and is productive for the firm;
- Undertake ad hoc requests which build our service offering to our clients;
- Review accounting procedures and recommend solutions to work towards a more efficient production process; and
- Manage, coach, and motivate team members, recruit staff, train and develop team members according to the company policies and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, job performance, illness etc.).
- Acts as the focal point for the accounting team(s) to internal and external stakeholders/clients on daily operational escalations and issues. Works closely with management and clients to set expectations and communicates expectations to the team;
- Prepare and review accounting documents for all stages of company lifecycle, i.e., from company incorporation through to dissolution, in accordance with accounting requirements with agreed deadlines;
- Qualified reviewer for all accounting services oversight checklists, internal control points and audit paperwork as required;
- Follow changes in legislation, regulations, or accounting standards in the which may impact service delivery and ensure that international and/or industry specific accounting requirements are met;
- Assist with all aspects of the bookkeeping and administration of a portfolio of special purpose vehicles (SPVs); compile, enter and post monthly journal entries;
- Set up and maintain computerized administrations and/or financial databases;
- Prepare statutory financial statements as well as ad hoc client-specific reports;
- Prepare periodic bank reconciliations;
- Assist with the completion of routine audit queries; and
- Assist in cash management including the management of bank accounts and payment instructions.
- Accountable for smooth transition of existing client and onboarding of new clients each month into the team;
- Accountable for management of all entities and related recurring tasks under your JB4 spans of control acting as a reviewer and an internal and external point of escalation where necessary;
- Accountable for maintaining Last Twelve Months (LTM) attrition levels below 20% for employees within their span of control;
- Support process enhancement and continuous process improvements, utilising systems as required; and
- Accountable for the teams entities remaining fully compliant with relevant local legislation.
