About The Business Unit
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for the Victorian correctional system. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and localised prison intelligence units located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria. CVIU delivers intelligence services to decision makers across Corrections Victoria and its stakeholders to support the security and safety of correctional facilities and to support community safety and the effective management of offenders in the community.
About The Role
The Intelligence Manager has the primary responsibility for overseeing the delivery of intelligence services to support decision makers across CV, the department, and its key stakeholders. The Intelligence Manager provides expert intelligence advice to executives and operational managers across the state, as well as strong leadership to intelligence practitioners.
The Intelligence Manager fosters and maintains critical stakeholder relationships across the criminal justice system. The position will contribute to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of the CVIU to meet the organisation's changing needs, with a focus on service excellence and community safety. The role also requires strong leadership to drive development of a varied workforce, strong governance, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
Some Of Your Duties Will Include
- Lead a team of intelligence practitioners delivering varied intelligence functions, providing strong leadership, guidance, and ensuring responsibility and accountability.
- Provide authoritative strategic advice on the results of intelligence gathering, including the identification and evaluation of emerging threats, trends opportunities and mitigation strategies.
- As a member of the CVIU management team, lead and contribute to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of CVIU operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in leading intelligence practitioners delivering tactical and strategic intelligence functions.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of contemporary principles and practises that apply to intelligence functions within the criminal justice system and across intelligence agencies.
- Knowledge of legislation pertaining to the Victorian correctional system.
- An existing Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance, otherwise one must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
- Working knowledge of the Centurion Intelligence System, Ejustice, PIMS, Microsoft Office and the Prisoner Telephone System (desirable).
