Our client is a family-owned business based in Cape Town that has been operating for more than 40 years. They manage and maintain 8 sites with 62 industrial tenants. Though they specialisein industrial spaces, they also own some retail and retail properties.
They are seeking a Property and Leasing Assistant to support the property management team. This role involves working closely with the Property and Facilities Manager, four days a week. Your role will primarily involve handling tenant relations, which includes responding promptly to tenant inquiries and maintaining positive relationships. You will also be responsible for coordinating property maintenance in collaboration with maintenance personnel and contractors. Financial record-keeping is an important aspect of this job, as you will be required to ensure that all maintenance costs are accurately captured and maintain up-to-date records of financial transactions. Additionally, you will be expected to perform any other general administrative duties as needed.
The perfect candidate for this position will possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, and have strong organisationaland multitasking abilities. Additionally, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in property is not required for this position. However, an exceptional command over written English is essential as you will be responsible for drafting various leasing and legal addendums, and responding to emails on behalf of your manager at a senior level. You should also possess a high degree of administrative detail to spot clerical errors and update complex spreadsheets accurately.
