The Managing Executive for Oil and Gas is required to lead Lesedis Oil and Gas business unit. The incumbent will manage a profit and loss business unit, with a portfolio encompassing diverse areas such as gas, oil and fuel storage, gas, oil and fuel reticulation, embedded generation utilising gas, oil or liquid fuels and serving clients in related sectors and industries. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business unit's operations, with a key focus on engineering, project management, construction, business development, and financial management. This role will involve strategic planning, market analysis, client relationship management, project execution, and financial oversight to drive growth and profitability.

- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Oil and Gas business unit by conducting market analysis, collaborating with stakeholders, setting clear objectives and tactics, establishing performance metrics, staying updated on industry trends and regulations, seeking partnerships, and addressing risks and challenges.

- The Executive ensures successful project delivery within the business unit, overseeing all phases from planning to delivery with a focus on quality, budget, and deadlines.
- Actively monitors progress, identifies risks, and implements proactive measures to keep projects on track.
- Provides strategic guidance to project teams, leveraging expertise to address challenges. Acts as a mentor and problem-solver, fostering innovation and collaboration. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Financial Management
- Ensure financial health and success by overseeing all aspects of financial management, including managing the profit and loss statement of the Oil and Gas division.
- Focus on cost management by monitoring expenses and optimizing to maximize profitability while maintaining efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive budgets for projects, allocate resources appropriately, and monitor budget performance to identify variances and risks. Regularly analyze financial performance, assess key metrics, and ensure compliance with regulations.

- The Executive will safeguard the business unit by implementing robust risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate project and business risks.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry-specific requirements, staying updated on changes in laws and standards.
- Manage risks and compliance to safeguard the organization's reputation and long-term success.
- Team Leadership and Development
- The Executive will lead the Oil and Gas team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. Provide inspirational leadership, set clear vision and direction, and motivate team members to reach their potential.
- Oversee talent management, including recruitment, mentorship, and development, identifying top talent aligned with Lesedis values.

- Bachelors degree in engineering.
- Professional certification in engineering or project management is advantageous.
- Additional / advanced qualifications or certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the broader project engineering sector of which 3-5 years experience in the oil and gas construction and engineering industry, with demonstrated success in leadership roles.
- Proven track record of effectively managing a Profit and Loss division.
- Proven track record of business development, project management, and financial management within the oil and gas or related sector.
