Minimum Requirements
- Degree relevant to structural and/or marine engineering.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- 10 years' experience in the relevant field.
- Ports and coastal engineering design experience.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards related to marine and coastal design as well as structural analysis.
- Coastal and/or Port Planning experience would be beneficial.
- Knowledge in / experience of metocean modelling (e.g. wave modelling with SWAN)
- Project experience in both Africa and the Middle East.
- Managing the companies Port and Coastal team, including resource planning, budgeting, strategic planning, financial planning and reporting, work winning and client relationship management.
- Acting as the companys' Expertise Lead for Ports and Coastal.
- Design coordination and project management.
- Mentorship and development of team and knowledge transfer.
- Technical review and verification of designs.
- Managing and creating conceptual, preliminary, and detail designs in the ports and coastal engineering field.
- Contribution to winning work via bids and proposals.
- Active coordination and interfacing with different stakeholders, multi-disciplinary teams, and clients on multi-disciplinary projects, e.g., environmental services, local municipalities and authorities, architects, and developers, and of course, other engineering disciplines (geotechnical, pavements design, materials handling).
