Minimum Requirements For The Role
- Must have a BSc Agric degree, and or Business degree
- An AVCASA certification will be required
- Minimum 5 years experience in Agricultural Chemical environment with specific focus on Herbicides, Seed applied Technology and Adjuvants
- Must have in-depth knowledge of business/market intelligence and marketing concepts/tools
- Broad knowledge of Agrochemical and Agricultural input business with good industry credibility and value chain expertise is important
- Must have good knowledge of crop specific practices and spray programmes as well as regulatory processes
- Managing the portfolio to ensure budget target delivery for the categories.
- Ensuring up to date knowledge of the markets and submarkets (market information data basis).
- Contributing to market intelligence projects (market survey, pricing survey).
- Understanding all technical aspects and positioning of the different products in the spray programmes.
- Providing range GAP analysis and guidance to R&D budget and acquisition strategy.
- Defining portfolio, crop spray program and product strategies, including the 4 Ps (Product, Place (distribution), Price, Promotion).
- Driving the procurement process for product launches.
- Providing value proposition and competition benchmark analysis for price decisions.
- Contributing to marketing assumptions for yearly budget for the categories.
- Managing promotional and advertorials campaigns or functions of current products / portfolios.
- Attending Global category meetings to improve cross pollination and information dissemination.
- Contributing towards business support initiatives to achieve budget targets.
- Developing training programs and train sales team, distributors and agents for the positioning and the value proposition of the range.
- Contributing to key account approach development customer data base with key promotion initiatives.
- Identifying and negotiating possible third-party products to expand range and offerings.
- Coordinating demonstration trials for business development and product launches.
- Recommending continuous improvement of current labels and packaging.
- Identifying new uses for current products.
- Investigating claims and product performance issues.
- Ensuring all administrative functions and system inputs are up to date.
