Assistant Consultant: Retirement– Sandton – Johannesburg

Mercer Marsh Benefits have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Consultant: Retirement to join our team based in Joburg.

The Assistant Consultant: Retirement position offers an exciting challenge and career opportunity for someone with a proven background within retirement fund consulting or retirement administration looking to join an established team within a market leading insurance broker.

This is a full-time role and you must be able to attend the office a minimum of 3 days a week including Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.

We will rely on you to:
  • Assist the Client Executive in consulting to a portfolio of clients.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are on file for all clients and provide services in line with SLA.
  • Together with the Client Executive, develop an annual year plan for each client and ensure adherence to deliverables.
  • Prepare agendas for management committee meetings and ensure distribution in line with SLA.
  • Attend management committee meetings and other ad hoc meetings together with the Client Executive.
  • Draft accurate and complete minutes of meetings for review by the Client Executive and distribute in line with SLA.
  • Ensure matters arising from meetings are actioned timeously.
  • Assist Client Executive with requesting quotations and drafting reports.
  • Ensure timeous response to queries.
  • Present at member induction sessions and keep attendance register.
  • Attend regular meetings with administrators/service providers.
  • Negotiate with insurers/service providers where required.
  • Attend regular meetings with team to discuss workflow and problem areas.
  • Provide appropriate advice, excellent client service and project management to ensure the smooth running of the client base.
  • Assist Client Executive to establish strong relationships with key decision makers, management committee members and service providers.
  • Ensure client contact details are accurate.
  • Updating of internal systems.
What you need to have:
  • Experience in a retirement fund consulting/administration role
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (or equivalent) Outlook, Word and Excel
  • RE 05 (Representatives Exam) - Passed
  • FAIS compliant
