- Matric
- Relevant Financial qualification.
- Qualification as a registered accountant with accreditation from a recognized accounting body approved by SARS for tax practitioner purposes.
- Possession of a valid SARS tax practitioner number.
- Demonstrated professional experience with either Sage One, Pastel, or Zero.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel.
Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with South African tax regulations and legislation.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns for clients.
- Provide expert advice to clients on tax planning, deductions, and credits.
- Conduct consultations to assess clients' financial situations and strategize for optimal tax outcomes.
- Financial Record Management:
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records for clients.
- Ensure that all relevant financial data is appropriately documented for tax purposes.
- Collaborate with auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to tax matters.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage One, Pastel, or Zero for efficient record-keeping and financial analysis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and providing ongoing support.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial status and potential tax implications.
- Oversee financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets.
- Offer proactive financial advice to clients to optimize their financial positions and minimize tax liabilities.
- Assist in financial planning and budgeting to achieve long-term financial goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and changes in accounting and tax regulations.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Uphold high ethical standards in all financial and tax-related activities.
- Maintain client confidentiality and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Liaise with tax authorities, including SARS, on behalf of clients to resolve any tax-related issues or queries.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing clients' financial positions and tax obligations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
