You have in-depth mastery of one technical process and maintains that process using progressive maintenance standards, troubleshooting on multiple processes and issues when necessary. You also lead at least one standard work process for your team.
How You Will Contribute
Without you, we could not deliver high-quality snacks to our customers. You will operate and maintain equipment to build technical mastery and to deliver on safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets, understanding losses in your area and taking the appropriate action to eliminate them. You will use autonomous and progressive maintenance standards to maintain equipment and support new product development. In this role, you will ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will take an active role in shutdown maintenance, root-cause analysis, stops reductions loss analysis and breakdown elimination.
What You Will Bring

- Autonomous maintenance (AM) Step 4 systems and the advanced skills to maintain equipment at basic conditions, including AM and progressive maintenance (e.g., breakdown maintenance, planned maintenance) standards on dedicated equipment
- Phase 2 tools including AM Step 4, working principle, general inspection, focused improvement 12 steps, and quality management Steps 3-6
- Leading a standard work process using a plan-do-check-adjust approach
Plant Planning and Logistics forms a key element of the SQCDSM Agenda on the Port Elizabeth Site. The role of the Material Handler is to provide support to the core production team to ensure that there is always material supply to the line to prevent production stoppages. This role will also support the core to ensure that material is available in the right quantity, at the right time and right quality. This role will also be responsible to drive and contribute to the IL6S CBN deliverables.
What you need to know about this position:
In line with the job purpose, key accountabilities and responsibilities will entail the following:
Materials Management
- Ensure continuous flow of raw materials and packaging materials to the production line during production run.
- Ensure that RM & PM materials are ordered and collected from RMS stores.
- Ensure that all raw material and pack material returns are completed and physically returned to the warehouse with appropriate paperwork and captured in SAP.
- Ensure that all rejected raw and pack material returns to supplier are completed and physically returned to the warehouse with appropriate paperwork and captured in SAP.
- Ensure that raw material and pack material stock counts are completed for DUV run
- Assist with RM & PM variance analysis post DUV posting
- Ensure that all waste is taken to waste yard before the end of each shift, with appropriate paperwork.
- Complete mandatory forklift inspection documentation and report any defects to superior.
- Understand and use basic IL6S tools - Kaizen, BOS, RCA and OPL tools
- Strong English language written and verbal Communication Skills
- Able to work well under pressure and maintain deadlines.
