Main purpose of the role
To Lead and coordinate the Manufacturing Engineering Team and Welding Department, managing - Process Stability, Engineering Change Management, Asset Management, Customer Tooling Management, Annual BOM/Rate Routing Audits, Plant Layout Changes, Welding Department and Weld Laboratory Employees, VAVE and IPP improvements, Equipment TRS, Capacity Planning.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, your main responsibilities are as follows:
- Direct the Manufacturing Engineers/Process Specialists, in defining technical specifications for new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities including supporting project launches and production transfers.
- Support continuous improvement efforts: propose and implement continuous productivity, efficiency, and quality improvement actions for the plant.
- Ensure correct management of the technical processes, parameters & programs in assembly, welding, shrinking, bending, cutting processes with its fixtures/ tools.
- Lead and generate QRCI to investigate quality concern cause by equipment or process.
- Integrate ergonomics principles in process design and maintain the CAD plant lay-out.
- Manage the review of process FMEAs, BOM Audits/Tooling Audits and Plant Asset Audits.
- Manage the product interface with product development and contribute to the Engineering change management process.
- Design and implement process design and implementation by supporting continuous improvement and production through participation to the process specialist network.
- Ensure continuous improvement by capitalizing on lessons learnt and provide best practices using tools like; process productivity analysis, improvement action plans, production equipment performance, trouble shooting and problem-solving process.
- Education: National Diploma in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience:
- Process engineering or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering as Process Specialist, experience in Welding Engineering and experience in Toolmaking and Maintenance.
- Understanding of Faurecia Excellence System and program management system.
- Good technical skills on product and process.
- Strong communication skills including English language.
- Master the whole task and be able to implement within a production line/shop floor working with line operators, gap leaders and supervisors.
- Languages: Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
