MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Our client provides mechanical engineering expertise to clients in the Energy Sector, in particular the Oil and Gas Industry.
The company supports clients throughout all project phases, from conception to commissioning and start-up. The company is particularly focused on providing package management of mechanical engineering equipment during the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) phase of projects.
About The Role
The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support activities and delivery on three current projects. These are listed above and are all with major Oil and Gas companies. The Engineer will work alongside the Director to complete the deliverables assigned. The expectation is that tasks and priorities will be planned and agreed on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will generally be responsible for:
- Creation of core Mechanical Engineering documentation, such as:
Specifications
Requisitions
- Review and assessment of Vendor bids for equipment and packages
- Vendor document reviews during the manufacturing process
- Perform selection studies for equipment such as pumps and/or compressors
The candidate shall be fluent in English, both written and speaking, and meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Mechanical Engineering qualification to University Degree level or equivalent.
- Between 2 5 Years Professional Experience (post study).
- Be able to read Engineering documentation, particularly:
Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
General Arrangement Drawings (GAs).
- Be fully adept at using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience creating professional technical documentation, preferably within the engineering discipline (using technical language and definition).
- Experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry or other energy industries such as Mining, Nuclear or Renewables.
- Experience using Autodesk (or similar applications such as Navisworks). Using as a Viewer only is acceptable.
- Experience with International Engineering Standards ASME, API, ISO, IEC etc.
