JOB STATEMENT
This position is responsible for providing Metso customers with professional technical support for its products. This position will coordinate and work closely with the LCS (Life Cycle Services) Management teams to assure a common understanding/application of technical support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso Equipment.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Work as member of a maintenance team for reactive and preventative maintenance and repairs
- Fitting ad repairing of mechanical parts of plant machinery
- Conduct mechanical maintenance work of chutes, floatation cells, conditioners, pumps, pipes, grinding mills, thickeners, filters, conveyors and other crucial areas of the plant to ensure continues operation
- Perform all work in a planned and organised manner, follow instructions and plans and complete work on schedule
- Ensure that work performed meet all statuary requirements and company standards
- Housekeeping duties of the maintenance area
- In cooperation with the other maintenance personnel ensure the optimisation plant performance and continues development of site maintenance
- Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all SHEQ regulations and standards during the work and ensure compliance with statuary and other regulations as are required by law
- Continually review and where necessary suggest changes that will improve the department occupational health, safety, quality and efficiency performance
- Other duties as directed by line Manager
- Maintaining 5S within the working environment
- Willingness to assist in additional reasonable tasks on hand
- Maximize performance on all equipment
- Complete job cards, logbooks, and inspection reports
- Conduct safety inspections
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Trade tested Mechanical Technician red seal
- Three (3) to four (4) years apprenticeship program
- Minimum 5 years field service experience on Metso equipment, Mining equipment, and Larox Filters
- Computer literate
- Understanding our principles of customer relations and interaction
- Ability to effectively communicate with a drive and performance orientation
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Report directly to Manager, LCS SAF East
- Customers
- Key suppliers
- Local SBL LCS Service Support teams
- Leadership and relationship-building qualities, a bias for action, and detail-oriented behaviours are required
- A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
- Good communication, co-operation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical, analytical, and mechanical skills and abilities
- Exposure to internal and external environmental conditions, noise, hazards
- Own Transport to and from the site
- Must reside within the Rustenburg district. And be able to be on-site within 45min from a breakdown callout
