Mechanical Technician

Join Philip Morris International as a Mechanical Technician and play a vital role in maintaining, optimising, and improving the mechanical operations of our production equipment. Your expertise will ensure production efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Improve Production Equipment**: Ensure mechanical technical conditions of production equipment meet production and quality requirements. Adhere to health, safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Team Collaboration**: Contribute to building team capabilities and knowledge on line processes. Perform OPEN+ champion roles to support capability development.
  • Sustainability Compliance**: Ensure compliance with educational requirements such as PMI or equivalent experience and legal standards related to Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability. Promote a transparent safety culture using preventive/predictive approaches.
  • Quality Assurance**: Ensure compliance with quality standards for incoming materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods. Collaborate with the quality department to prevent quality incidents and improve product integrity.
  • Technical Troubleshooting**: Respect change management processes for mechanical modifications. Act as the first contact point for incident troubleshooting and perform basic verification checks.
  • Process Optimization**: Analyze and improve production processes to eliminate losses. Participate in the continuous improvement of quality and efficiency standards using problem-solving and world class manufacturing methodologies.
  • Cultural Transformation**: Act as a proactive member of an autonomous team to drive cultural transformation. Coach others in Philip Morris Pillar tools and provide relevant information for smooth production operations.
  • Continuous Improvement**: Implement and propose improvements of standard work processes defined in Pillars. Ensure team capabilities based on step-up cards according to the qualification matrix.
Who Were Looking For
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanics Technology (or related courses).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a mechanical technician with a background in maintenance planning in a high-volume consumer goods manufacturing company is critical.
  • Computer proficient in SAP, MS Word, and MS Excel is required.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and participate in technical development projects to improve safety conditions, equipment efficiency, and effective use of spare parts.
  • Experience with installing and modifying production equipment.
  • Ability to coordinate maintenance activities according to schedules and availability of materials and labor.
  • Working experience in integrating new technologies and control devices on equipment.
